one week until open
- by Thea
Tupperware is in tech week right now. I don’t quite know how this theater company does it. There’s hardly ever any down time, and yet we’re scrambling and cramming and still learning new songs. We are still learning and changing things. And yet, it’s fine. Imagine me saying this three martinis in, after a week of no sleep, because that’s kind of how I’m feeling right about now, sans martinis: “We have this ‘there is no other option other than to push through with blind optimism’ mentality.” What the hell is wrong with us? Oh yes, we can’t stand working in offices, we can’t imagine doing anything else, and we have no where to go but up.
But up.
I’m exhausted. But up. Hey look! An already positive article about Tupperware.
The painting for the Numero Group is so close to being done.

The cat is helping.

There is also a battle of wills with the cat as of late. The cat is hungry. The cat needs wet food because the cat doesn’t like the dry food we have. When the cat does have wet food, the cat’s food needs to be stirred about every two hours starting at four in the morning so that she can be well fed for her eight o’clock nap.
I have a love/hate relationship with writing about one’s cat.
the cat says hello.

Happy America Day.
Catch ups for old times sake. Probably in list form for now, because if I don’t start writing I never will.
Living with the boyfriend. He is what I like to call “good.” I still have a lizard. I still have a cat. The cat is still crazy and needs her cat food stirred in order to eat it.
I’m still in the band. The band is on iTunes. The band is ending on August 20th. The band is re-forming and continuing on with a new name.
I still work at the computer store. My department keeps me in the basement and I often transfer people’s porn at my job.
I went back to school for sign language interpreting last spring. I tried to take three classes and work full-time, a mistake which made me do stabby motions with my hands. I continue to weigh the pros and cons of returning.
I am a part of a theater company. I am in a musical about Tupperware that opens on July 13th. I have been going out on commercial auditions. I booked my first commercial. I gained rent money and bought a new guitar by portraying a snarky sales clerk.
I am finishing a painting for an amazing independent label. This painting will be displayed at their booth at any rock and/or roll festival they attend. If you are at a music festival and see their booth, please take your picture by it and send it to me.
I had coffee at 7pm and am slightly regretting that decision.
This is my life as of late.
To the people who have mentioned they miss reading my goofs on the internets: Thank you, you are very nice. I will continue to write for you twelve lovelies.
